Fishing for Leave Newcastle – A Documentary

On Friday 15th March 2019, Fishing for leave organised an event pro Brexit to save Britain’s fish. A parade from Glasgow Scotland marched from Bell Street on the Fish Quay, North Shields to Newcastle Quayside, with a convoy including a Pipe Band and a truck with a boat on the back with banners on it followed by several police cars.

A flotilla also took part in the event, 20 Fishing Vessels departed the fish quay at 1000hrs and arriving at the quayside at 1200hrs Under the Millennium Bridge, where they launched fireworks, flares and rockets into the Tyne and Air.

EU Remainers protested against Fishing for Leave on the Millennium Bridge with both parties speaking to each other via Megaphone.

The Parade headed onto the Tyne Bridge and along to Jarrow and the flotilla departed for North Shields at 1300hrs.

The event was patrolled by both the Port of Tyne’s Harbour Master and a Police RIB. There was also a heavy media coverage at the event including BBC Newcastle and BBC/ITV News.
